Welcome to your new home. Now that the sale has been finalised and you're ready to move in, there are a few things that you can do to make life easier and prevent any hassles later on. Biggin & Scott have been helping people settle into their new homes for over 100 years.

We understand your needs and can provide you with a range of services to ease any transitional difficulties that may arise. When you move into a new home, you may need to contact a range of people and organisations to inform them of your new address.

That way you can close off any existing utility contracts and ensure your mail reaches you immediately.

Moving Checklist - "Get Organised"

Before Your Move
	Inform the relevant authority at least 48 hours in advanced - meter to be read.

	Advise people of your new address
	Go through your address book and send out change of address cards. Your local instant printer or post office should be able to supply these at a low cost.

Book Removalist Arrange insurance for goods in transit Dispose of rubbish or unwanted possessions Prepare floor plan of new house and number rooms Pack fragile items yourself Mark items to be handled with special care Pack jewellery and valuables and lodge in a safe deposit box or arrange a special carrier Mark each carton with the room for which it's intended Carefully dispose of flammable, poisonous or dangerous substances Remove food and defrost freezer/fridge

When Moving
